With the exception of Apple I think Nokia has to be the most design centric phone company out there. They seem to always be pushing the boundaries of technology and researching new ways to add value to the mobile phone experience. A recent article in Business Week talks about the research they are conducting to create flexible devices.

Scientists are using nanotechnology to create smaller electrical circuits on a rubbery substrate. They are also attempting to make the circuits themselves flexible…Many of the capabilities and functionalities are based on research Nokia is conducting with a group of scientists at the University of Cambridge. It’s working on flexible, stretchable phones, for example, which can be bent around your wrist and double as bracelets.

What makes Nokia even cooler is that they don’t just talk about their technological innovations (in this case it won’t be feasible for another 10 years), but they show you what it will be like as well.
