Sometimes asking permission only slows things down. Nicholas Panas must have made this assumption when he dreamed up the Lego iPhone application that gives you the ability to build Lego structures brick-by-brick in virtual space.

The fictional software was developed without the consent of Lego or Apple, but the demo that Nicholas has put together might make the big guys think about giving him the resources to make it real.

legophone.pngAlong with the ability to build objects from teh standard Lego blocks you can create Lego avatars and browse your contacts and block library with Apple’s slick coverflow functionality. You can also animate your creations and attach iTunes tracks which can be sent to friends through the iPhone’s email function.
