I am somewhat of a pack rat in that I have a hard time throwing stuff away because there is always the chance that I might need it somewhere down the line. Unfortunately this does not end when I enter the digital world.

If I run across a cool image or diagram I will drag it to my desktop or take a screenshot for later reference. This can lead to a messy computer full of unorganized images. I started to use Flickr as an image organization system as it allowed me meta tag the pictures and free me from storing them on my hard drive.

Unfortunately the process of saving images is not as streamlined as I would like and apparently I violate some of their rules by uploading other peoples images. So I was quite pleased to run across a little web app called Vi.sualize.us which makes image bookmarking a breeze and keeps me from worrying if my account will be deleted for violating some by-laws.

I would definitely recommend it (not a paid advertisement) if you have a similar obsession with diagrams, photos, illustrations, and graphics that I do and need a way to keep track of it all. Plus the community provides a steady source of interesting and captivating imagery.

Flickr is still good for uploading and organizing your own images though and has a great community.
